We thought that the Wal-Mart deal on the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8520 for $48.88 was a good one. That was until we heard that Amazon is offering the Curve 8520 for 1 cent on a new 2-year contract.
If you are interested in getting a new T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8520 for practically free you would do yourself well to check out this deal at Amazon.
RIM should start selling direct, un-branded, un-locked no contact agreement needed.
RIM does have a few BlackBerry Stores where they do sell, unlocked unbranded devices, however, it is not a big business for them. So long as the carriers, RIM’s biggest customers, continue to subsidize devices when the have their corporate logo slapped on them and are looked to their network, unbranded, unlocked BlackBerry devices won’t be a big hit in the U.S.
Where are these RIM stores or at least links to information about & leading me to them?!?!
PLEASE?!?!?! 8D
Many, Many Thanks INDEED!!!!!!

Exactly instead of passing off:
“however, it is not a big business for them. So long as the carriers, RIM’s biggest customers, continue to subsidize devices when the have their corporate logo slapped on them and are looked to their network, unbranded, unlocked BlackBerry devices won’t be a big hit in the U.S.”
Device fan sites like RIMarkable should be showing BB Fans the options they have to get our BB’s direct, unlocked, unbranded, without the service providers messing with the device software. It’s more than obvious to most who know better and those that care that RIM is at a disadvantage when it comes to the quality of the device, the user experience quality and direct user feedback when RIM becomes a third party and it’s ability to sell, service, train, and get timely updates directly out to consumers is diminished.
Options for consumers are good, options are good for RIM.
RIM is hardly putting any effort towards selling direct, this is just one example why they are making sure “it is not a big business for them”
