Somehow I managed to miss that MyBlackBerry, the official BlackBerry community social network, launched yesterday for all.
I’ve just created my account and logged in for the first time. Haven’t had the chance to check everything out yet, but, the profile seems kind of rigid. Don’t seem to be able to determine what my display name will be. I will put MyBlackBerry through the paces when I get some time and put a proper review up in a few days.
LAME. MyBlackBerry screams of desperation. Why a exclusive social network for Blackberry users? Come on think outside the box, why not socially network with everyone? One can in fact “learn about new applications. Connect with others. Share stories or tips and tricks.” from many other, and better places.
POOR idea RIM.
Ummm… Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace. At last check they, and about a bazillion other social networks, are open to all.
If you would have said that the implementtion of MyBlackBerry was lame, I probably would be inclined to agree. To just knock it becuase it is exclusive to BlackBerry users doesn’t really make sense. It is a social network of BlackBerry users.
MyBlackBerry = “It is a social network of BlackBerry users.”
Why not use Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace and all the various forums to “learn about new applications. Connect with others. Share stories or tips and tricks.”?
Anything “exclusive to” is LAME especially when it comes to learning and connecting with others. That and WHY is RIM wasting time with this kind of crap.
Interesting…

If this was developed by RIM I would rather they work on making it so I don’t have to QuickPull or open the back of my Storm to reset the memory or stop it from hanging.
Seriously, I feel like an infantry man field stripping an M-16. I can do it in the dark or with mu eyes closed I have to do it do often…
But maybe it’s just me…
Lol ! Rim should work on better stuff and if the have to have a website?puleeeze make it intresting!
