Sprint has officially announced their new Any Mobile Anytime plan which gives you unlimted calling to any mobile phone in the United States along with unlimited data, including BlackBerry Internet Service, and 450 anytime minutes all for $69.99 per month.
I’ve got to say that this sounds like one heck of a deal, but, then there is always the fine print.
To make a long story short the Any Mobile Any Time plan isn’t particularly friendly to those roam a lot. When you read the fine print you will find the following usage limitation:
“Sprint may terminate service if (1) more than 800 minutes, (2) a majority of minutes or (3) a majority of kilobytes in a given month are used while roaming.”
The problem with this limitation is that roaming, on most other Sprint plans, is free. This isn’t a huge deal if you don’t roam all that often, but, the thing is if you never roam and want a really cheap unlimited plan with unlimited data, you could always go with a pre-paid plan like those offered by Boost Mobile which will only set you back $50 per month and you don’t have to sign up to a contract…
The Any Mobile Anytime plan is, however, a really good deal if you are a BlackBerry user and rarely roam because the pre-paid carriers don’t usually offer BIS.

All plans that include roaming have that same stipulation. Also Boost Mobile does not include roaming due to it being on the Nextel Network.
They say roaming may vary but that is for international since there is no domestic roaming
Its true about the “fine print”; I work for Sprint, and, I can honestly say, we have NEVER terminated a customer, to my knowledge, for roaming issues. I work on the Business side, as a dedicated care specialist, and a LOT of my customers travel to Canada, and roam. A LOT. Termination of those lines hasnt once been discussed, in over 2 years. So, yes, the print is there-for legality reasons only. It isnt a requirement on our side to enforce it-but, we hold the RIGHT to.
This has always been the fine print on any of the sprint plans when they introduced free roaming.
You should also note that this 69.99 plan can be discounted if you work for a major corporation like Johnson & Johnson or Bank of America or even if you are a member at a credit union. Some of these discounts can be up to 25% like UPS. On a side note Boost can also not be insured and their phones are more basic.
I was on the sprint free incoming call plan, a sprint rep convinced me that the any mobile, anytime plan was sssoooo much better…but so far that has not been the case for me. I have evidence of what should have been counted as mobile minutes, being classified as anytime. This plan is too good to be true. Sprint users….check your call logs to make sure your mobile to mobile usages are being counted as that…rather than anytime minutes
when did the anytime any mobile plan take affect on customers acct?
thanks for sharing this usefull information.
