At my day job quite a few of my co-workers have gotten new BlackBerry devices over the passed week or so. One of the questions that I have been asked numerous times is, “What good free BlackBerry applications should I install?”
Instead of continuing to answer everyone individually, I have created a list of 6 Free Applications that every new BlackBerry user should download.
- Poynt for BlackBerry — Local Search Utility
- Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones
- Google Maps
- UberTwitter — BlackBerry Twitter Client
- Viigo — BlackBerry RSS Reader
- Pandora — BlackBerry Internet Radio Client
Just follow these links from your BlackBerry and download each of these free BlackBerry applications directly to your device.

I would put Slacker over Pandora. More songs, caching, better sound quality.
I’m not a big fan of Pandora and Slacker tears through battery life. IHeart Radio is a must if you want options, but Nobex Radio Companion is also a must if you want to know what the name of the song is that played 10 min ago. Also, if you have a Storm, some type of battery pull/memory cleaner like QuickPull is MANDATORY…especially if you put a case on it 😉
As download video movie to blackberry, I’d like video to blackberry converter more, http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/video-to-blackberry.html
Help! I am so NOT “with it” when it comes to knowing anything about my phone. I want to be able to catch up on my tv shows while I spend countless hours in the car. How, if possible, do I download my shows to my phone? I bought the JUPITER JACK so I can listen thru my car stereo…but now I just need to know how to get the shows to my phone. Thanks!
by the way, I have the blackberry storm phone
I’m looking a free mpeg player for my gemini series..
actually they all suck. Compared to what offred on other devices…. blackberry’s apps absolutley suck. No pocket tunes, kimoro, aol radio, wtf?!?!?!….and people are actually hooked on this phone….counting the days to get rid of the unintuitive, noncustimizable peice of crap.
***gazing lovelingly the HTC touch>>>>>”hello my new lover!”
i thought with the torch that blackberry was going to compete with the iphone. i guess i’m stupid. now i wasted my phone upgrade. the bb apps are beyond simple. apps that wouldn’t even be offered for free from apple cost 5 bucks on the blackberry, and even they disappoint.
