After writing that long a$$ post earlier today about how Verizon would be smart to sell the BlackBerry Storm cheaper than the BlackBerry Bold, this little tidbit showed up in my inbox.
Wal-Mart is offering the AT&T BlackBerry Bold for $199.99 with a $199.99 mail-in rebate. They are offering free shipping and the device is in stock.
I’ve got to admit, that ain’t too bad.

I’m on that!!!!
Well, that’s more like it w/ regard to pricing.
No doubt ATT wants to sell the Bold at a Premium to their business clients, while Walmart sells to the general consumer.
However, just as a general comment, I hate these rebate schemes. They are a hassle to execute, and of course, you have to wait for your money. That’s of course, also why the stores prefer rebates.
I know it won’t happen, but I wish the stores would just sell for the discounted price.
Thanks for sharing.
I bought the Bold on Monday night and paid the upgrade price ($400 with a $100 rebate). I just called AT&T to complain that Wal-Mart is offering the Bold for $150 less for upgrade price. THE REP GAVE ME A $150 CREDIT ON MY PLAN!! 🙂 I didn’t even have to yell or get mad!!! Well done, AT&T!!
Call into the main number and hit the option for changing your plan/service.
You can’t beat free. The reason retailers offer mail-in rebates is because they profit off of every dumbass (or someone who would’ve purchased it w/o rebate) that doesn’t turn it in and jump through all the hoops. For those of us saying “Ooo, free phone!” — it’s only free if we want our money back.
