BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 was released in limited beta to select BlackBerry Beta Zone members several weeks ago, and, subsequently, leaked online to anyone feeling adventurous a few days later, however, has been recently officially released to all and is now ready for download.
New BlackBerry Desktop Manage 6 features include:
- An improved, simpler design for the software
- Added BlackBerry Media Sync features to import and synchronize your media files (music, pictures, and videos) from one location
- Option to synchronize your music by artist and genre
- Support for the BlackBerry® Torch 9800 Smartphone and the BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone
- If your device is using BlackBerry Device Software 6.0, you can use the Wi-Fi music sync feature to download or remove songs from your computer’s music collection using your device when you connect to your home’s Wi-Fi network

i downloaded the new software this week. maybe a coincidence but since doing it i can not sync with my blackberry bold.
– I wonder if you know anything about this situation.
. It acknowledges the phone in the sense that it charges when I tether it.
Have you heard anything in past day or two about this situation when people try to sync and they have downloaded blackberry updates?
Get a message in a box labeled intelisync which says “unknown error reported”
i tried taking out the battery as well as reboot computer.
any help you can offer woul be appreciated. thanks, josh
RIM considers all of us their Beta testers. DM6 doesn’t work… I tried installing it on both my desktop (XP SP3) and laptop (Vista) and I get the same error. Went online… spent the last few hours investigating…. DM6 has seriously problems, or at least a VERY common problem: it doesn’t SYNC. It gives an “Intellisync: Unknown Error” pop-up, then stops. No solution can be found, and RIM hasn’t even tried to post solutions or ideas or anything online. DO NOT install DM6. Stay with the earlier (working versions). I’m rolling back to my previous version now. Or…. I’m just going to toss the Blackberry and buy an iPhone. I’m tired of the PC-compatible family of vendors putting out sloppy, bloated, non-working, incompatible versions of their software, then leaving us to clean up our hard drives after their sloppy programming.
DON’T UPGRADE! DON’T INSTALL!!! DM6 has what some would charitably calll “ISSUES”. Mainly not syncing or crashing on start-up. See what awaits us dupes in this blog:
