BGR has specs on the upcoming 3G BlackBerry Curve called the BlackBerry Gemini 9300.
- The screen will be larger than the BlackBerry 8900, and that will also include a higher resolution
- The CPU will also be beefed up. We’re not sure if this means it will include something more powerful than the Bold’s 624MHz processor or not, but we’d like to think so.
- The device is said to be silver (think BlackBerry 8830)
- The keyboard is a little more rounded than the BlackBerry 8900
- The Send/End keys are rounded instead of being flat on the sides
- Styling is not drastically different — it keeps with the 8900/Storm styling
- It of course rocks quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA
- Wi-Fi and GPS was not confirmed, but we’d say there’s about a 99.99% chance
- Camera specs were not confirmed as well, but you can bet you’re looking at 3.2 megapixels or better
There is no official word on when the BlackBerry 9300 will come out, however, BGR doesn’t think it will be before Q4 ’09 if not Q1 next year.
Good looking BB with spec’s to match
….and I am certain that VZW won’t have it until a year or more after everyone else! 🙁
or maybe
VZW will. It is so hard to tell especially since the storm which is the first touch screen phone was lauched in the
US with verizon. VZ would be smart to lock in more exclusivity deals with RIM. ATT , Tmob have sub-par , crappy networks!!! it looks like it could work. Hopefully VZW launches a good LTE network…. hear that, VZW, Launch LTE properly !!! dont F**k it up !!! screw your vodafone half . Those damn Pommies are lazy and drunk…. lord knows they have messed up with there network here in Australia why they will be merging with 3. shooot buy them off. It will be expensive but we won in 1776 and 1812 , tell them to f**k off by 2010!!!! verizon is american !!! not freaking pommie
AT&T sub par? Right. Sorry VZW lover, but ATT will be getting this device first.
“It of course rocks quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA”
Soon when verizon upgrades to GSM-LTE there will be less of a lag for phones coming to verizon.
AT&T will get it first lol. Us loyal verizon customers are never that lucky to receive the newest bb’s. The reason is that att offers features that are easy to build upon like wifi while verizon is just allowing wifi for their smartphones. I think verizon is starting to get the idea of not trying to control so much the market and allow a little more freedom to create a wider customer base. att has more customers than verizon, mostly due to the iphone launch, but never the less it has a wide customer distribution base compared to verizon’s business users.
so yea….verizon has the network which i will say kicks att and tmobile’s…but they get the better phones. personally verizon needs to fire some people, especially the person who said no in getting the iphone since verizon was the first to be offered it and they turned it down…..infrastructure seems to the popular word these days…maybe verizon will make some company changes hopefully
Actually Sprint is way over due you guys. Verizon now has the Storm and AT&T got the Bold and T-Mobile got the new 8900 Curve and we’re still stuck with the original Curve as the best BlackBerry sprint offers. So while I see where you’re coming from. Sprint should be next in line.
Have a good one.
I AM SO UP-SET THAT ANOTHER BLACK BERRY IS COMING OUT. I JUST GOT THE 8900 AND I THINK THAT IS A HOT PHONE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THERE IS A NEW ONE COMING OUT. SOMEONE IN THE LIBRARY JUST INFORMED ME ABOUT THE NEW ONE SO I HAD TO CHECK IT OUT FOR MYSELF TO SEE IN FACT IT WAS TRUE AND UNFORTUNITELY ITS SO. . .
I just looked at one being sold a Zain telecom in Kuwait the one pictured above is not the Gemini. The phone was all black with the side and buttons covered with rubber to protect them. It looks kind of like a silicone case but more subtle. Also there is no track ball that has been replaced with a track button so to speak. The model on display could not be powered so I could not see if I liked it or not.
