This BlackBerry Storm commercial has been floating around for a couple of days now but I figured that since I haven’t posted it yet I should go ahead and do so.

I want my minute and 39 seconds back.
The iPhone rules…
This doesn’t seem to be a consumer-facing commercial, but rather an internal video. There is a marked absence of creative direction… the animation is very low-grade and seems to be straight out of powerpoint presentation from 1999. Not sleek, sexy, hot like this phone is actually. Slow animated lighted buttons on the screen = terrible. Too bad the screen is one big button as opposed to each letter key pushing in. Beautiful on the outside, though.
I work in a Verizon store and we got some promo material for the Blackberry Storm earlier in the week. We didn’t get a real demo unit yet but there was a dummy unit that doesn’t actually turn on. It feels good in your hand and I think that you will be able to easily type on it in landscape mode with your thumbs.
It is pretty cool because the screen acutually presses in when you hit a button which kind of makes it feel like you are really pushing a button when you type.
I can’t wait to get my hands on a real model. I am pretty sure that I will be trading my Voyager in for one of these.
I know that the BlackBerry isn’t as big in Europe as it is here in the U.S., however, I am kind of surprised that the Vodafone is going to offer the Storm for free.
Consumers that were initially looking at an iPhone will definitely have a decision to make once the Storm is released.
