It would appear that Research in Motion co-CEO, Jim Balsillie, wasn’t joking when he said that social networking is key to the BlackBerrys future.
According to Silicon.com, popular business oriented social networking site, LinkedIn, is getting a makeover that will make it available on the BlackBerry as well as other mobile devices.
I wonder how long it will be before we actually see a LinkedIn BlackBerry application similar to Facebook for BlackBerry launched back in October.
UPDATE:
Here is a video about the updated LinkedIn Website…
Great post with the Youtube Video embeded.
Arghh.. this autoplays in Google Reader – It was way down in the new posts being displayed and freaked me out as I couldn’t find the source for the mysterious voice..
Sorry RIMarkable Readers…
I didn’t realize that the youtube video autoplayed in various newsreaders, so, we have removed the embedded video and just replaced it with a link.
Good news on LinkedIn. It’s one of the few sites I use for business, etc. Can’t wait to see…
LinkedIn looks good……
LinkedIn Goes Mobile
http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/02/26/linkedin-goes-mobile/
No ability to accept invites on the mobile version and no ability to update status. These guys are so far behind facebook it’s not funny. It’s a shame as Linkedin is useful for business, but too bad the founders are already rich. They just don’t seem hungry and they can’t seem to follow others quickly and well either. It’s too bad as I am a big fan, but when I go to the mobile site I see “Good Buddy” has invited you, but no way to act on that? Crappy.
Is there a list to get on to be emailed when they create an application for it? I have a 8330..thanks!
So IS there a Mobile App available for BlackBerry? I upgraded my Pearl to a Bold 9000 in 12/08, but now that the iPhone allows MMS I’m wondering if when I’m eligible to upgrade I should get that! BBry used to set the bar for Smart Phones but with almost every other manufacturer catching on I’m wondering what the benefit to having a BBry is! RIM’s got a lot of competition now so if they want to retain customers they need to get with it!
