There is a new BlackBerry Twitter Application on the block with a familiar name. Seesmic, the popular desktop Twitter client is now available for BlackBerry devices running OS 4.6 and higher.
I’ve only had the opportunity to play around with Seesmic for BlackBerry for a short while, and, even though currently in beta (alpha for the Storm, Storm2, and Tour), Seesmic for BlackBerry is a pretty nifty BlackBerry Twitter client and has a many of the bells and whistles of other BlackBerry Twitter clients currently available.
I really like how searches and lists saved in your Twitter account automatically appear in the Seesmic for BlackBerry Client.
Seesmic for BlackBerry is a free BlackBerry download and you can pick it up by visiting www.seesmic.com from you devices browser.
Didn’t work on my Storm running OS 5.0. It gave me a blank screen when trying to refresh timeline and displayed no tweets. Is there any setting that I need to change to get this working?
Did you install the version for the BlackBerry Tour, Storm, and Storm2?
Works on my S1 with 5.0. Way better than ubertwitter. My only gripe is you can’t hide the keyboard after tweeting.
Bad UI. When will BB’s catch up to todays standards?
The BlackBerry is today’s standard. Seesmic is very early on in its development. It only gets better from here…
I was testing TG (Tweet Genius) on my Tour and the damn thing kept crashing my device. Loved the UI, but it still needs more work. Ubertwitter is what I’ve been using for quite some time and love it.
Robb, how does this one compare in your opinion? I’ll give it a spin, but wanted your opinion first.
Well, Seesmic for BlackBerry is still not a finished product so it is hard to do a true comparison. UberTwitter is still my personal favorite, but, Seesmic for BlackBerry has a lot of promise. Saved searches and lists is really nice feature.
Thanks Robb. My favorite mobile twitter app is TweetDeck for the iPhone, but UberTwitter is my favorite on the Berry as well. I think I’ll stick with it until I’m blown away. Let me know if you see or come across something “Uber” good. 🙂
Two tweets up for TweetDeck
