We’ve known for a while that it true Skype client for the the BlackBerry was in the works, however, it would appear that a Beta Skype Client for the BlackBerry Storm has been leaked.
Skype Beta for the BlackBerry Storm is a desktop installed App and I hear (I’ve yet to install it myself) that it has a few bugs. If, however, you want to give it a go for yourself, you can get the desktop loader files at the link below.
Skype Beta for BlackBerry Storm .zip files
A) Will big red allow it?
B) What good is Skype on a mobile phone “without” WiFi?
The Storm could be SO much better than it is without the walled garden of verizon around it.
The file in this article is clearly not a storm port. It may work on a bold but you cannot even select “Accept” in the lower left on the storm necessary to complete its installation. a shame.
update …
options –> Advanced Options –> Applications ->skype
turn on compatibility mode.
say “no” to the update.
how do u manage to click accept? or get skype to work?
Send it back for a refund -), it locks up on my BB Storm
It’s amazing that the cell phone companies would work with a seemingly competitive service to enable it on their own devices.
Not sure if this is the right place to post about this, but I regularly read this blog. Anyway, new software for the Storm was just released (FREE beta) to track receiptsexpenses basically by taking pictures of receipts with your Storm.
