It looks like an email has been sent to BlackBerryCool and BBHub from the administrator of Spain-based Miblackberry.com with a screen cap of his server logs that shows that his site was accessed by a BlackBerry 8800.
With the BlackBerry 8800 being rumored to be released as soon as the mid to late January, test units are undoubtedly floating around at this point.
We didn’t get the email, however, the screen cap was posted to Miblackberry’s site as well.
If you check your own logs you should now see entries for a BlackBerry 8800 and also for a BlackBerry 9900 – wonder what that is?
FYI – UserAgent spoofing is REALLY easy…
Very, Very true…
If not already, however, there will soon be test models of the BlackBerry 8800 being used soon. No question about that…
They are in use.
And as someone made a point of on our site – why would someone randomly be using a fake 8800 UA?
Just to feed the hysteria on blogs like these?
Unless you think the Miblackberry is making this up, don’t you think that it is a stretch that somone would spoof source user agent, hit a Spanish blog, hope that the site owner notices the log, and emails the two biggest blogs about BlackBerry in North America that are read overwhelmingly by English speaking users?
I know that it has been a slow week, however, this is about as likely as setting off a bomb in an autoparts store and having a parking lot full of newly assembled vehicles once the smoke clears.
See this is why I love this blog. I come expecting to find out something about the BlackBerry and I leave with one of the best “chaos theory” analogies that I have ever heard.
Robb that had me laughing outloud when I read it.
Rich: Robb is smarter than the average BB Bear, no doubt about that!
Careful there Thought… You are showing your age with the Yogi Bear reference. 🙂
