Adam over at CrackBerry.com did a comparison video of boot times between the BlackBerry Bold 9700, BlackBerry Bold 9650, and the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 running BlackBerry 6. I am not really stunned by how fast the Torch boots compared to the latest BlackBerry Bold model. It seems on par with (maybe a little slower than) the iPhone and Android devices. I am truly amazed, however, at just how long the other devices take to boot up. It’s kind of sad actually

I agree that it is sad on the boot times for the 9700 and 9650 but…the torch is the new thing for rim so of course it’s going to have an initial faster load time. As an owner of a 9700, mine does not take 10 minutes to start up the phone. For app installs or battery pulls it might come close, but for other restarts, it’s more like 5-7 mins.
Also, RIM/Crackberry has hinted at the technical aspects of OS 6, which overhauls processing time for apps and loading. So, a brand new out-of-the-box torch. I would EXPECT it to be extremely fast. The ONLY time I would be impressed with boot times is when I have added apps, messages, games etc. and after 6 plus months of standard to heavy usage and the phone still loads as fast in the above video
