I just read an interesting article on abc News and the author, Eric Noe, brings up a good point, “If BlackBerry Blacks Out, Who Will Fill In?”
There is no other wireless email provider that can even come close to offering what Research in Motion offers with their BlackBerry platform. I am sure that Good will say that they could easily step in and take the place of RIM but let’s be serious. Most people have never heard of GoodLink and the fact that they haven’t really even raised their awareness much more than it was before the BlackBerry shutdown madness started to spread like a pandemic. I question if Good could every really be more than second or third to RIM.
It’s a good thing that a BlackBerry shutdown will never happen. Corporate America would be in a world of hurt if it ever did.
Gimmie a break. CrackBerry addicts need to check into the Betty Ford 😉
An Electronic Leash for sheep and lemmings, it is.
As far as “BlackBerry shutdown will never happen” … you know the old saying, “Never say Never”. 😉
Somebody, somewhere, probably also once predicted that Arabs would “never” own and operate American Ports, too. Or, that Ford & GM and United Airlines would “never” go broke, or that IBM and MayTag would sell-out to Chinese.
As for, “Corporate America would be in a world of hurt …”, indeed, they already are, and it has nothing to do with the BlackBerry. Ever seen a Wal-Mart Greeter using a BlackBerry to check his/her stock portfolio, and E-Mails, or taking an incoming call from Sam Walton? Wal-Mart greeters are rapidly becoming the Corporate American version of an executive.
While I agree it’s unlikely to happen, if the lights go out at BlackBerry, “Corporate America” will barely notice. They’ve all moved into P.O. Boxes in the Cayman Islands where even the IRS can’t reach ’em, BlackBerry or no.
